Emergency Operations Plan

The Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers, Final Rule, as published in Federal Register / Vol. 81, No. 180 / Friday, September 16, 2016 / Rules and Regulations, requires 16 covered healthcare entities to have an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) as a condition of payment (COP) requirement.

The attachment shown below is a template for a basic, all hazard, EOP. This template serves as a good starting point if your facility does not already have an EOP. Remember to conduct and document your Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) before developing your EOP.  Make certain that you customize the EOP template to reflect your individual healthcare facility.

Please contact the EVHC office at (757) 963-0632 if you have questions regarding EOP development.
