Coalition Meetings and Minutes

Welcome to the Easern Virginia Healthcare Coalition (EVHC)!  All for our Coalition members conduct a joint meeting with all of our members once per calendar quarter. In addition, quarterly focus group meetings are conducted for acute care hospitals and long term care/intermediate care facilities/home health/hospice.  The purpose of these meetings is to ensure that the interests of all of our healthcare partners are served by the Coaltion, regardless of the nature of their core business. 

The Coalition is also supported by the work performed by our members in our work group. The work of each work grouo is specified in their respective work group charter. We currently have work groups for:

  • Communications Work Group
  • Exercise and Training Work Group 
  • Regional Healthcare Coordinating Center (RHCC)

Medically Vulnerable Population Coordinator

The Eastern Virginia Healthcare Coalition (EVHC) is recruiting for a Medically Vulnerable Population Coordinator.

The Medically Vulnerable Population Coordinator (MVP) will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and implementing a healthcare community engagement strategy to ensure healthcare disaster and emergency preparedness before, during and following disasters. The MVP will be required to participate with varying healthcare provider types including, but not limited to Long Term Care Facilities, Intermediate Care Facilities, Dialysis, Home Health Agencies, and Hospice to assist with emergency management planning, training, and developing exercises that meet the regulatory requirements. Ensure engagement with other regional healthcare facilities, and the Eastern Region Healthcare Coalition (EVHC).

The MVP will assist with the development of an appropriate Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) in conjunction with local and regional organizations. The MVP will train and exercise the use of the Virginia Healthcare Alerting and Status System (VHASS) with the healthcare community.

The MVP will foster positive change, professional program growth and teamwork with the goal of maximizing the well-being of those served by the position.
