Welcome to the 2018 ShakeOut Exercise! Healthcare organizations in the eastern region of Virginia are invited to participate in this exercise. Registration is not required.
The Exercise. This exercise will occur in real time on October 18, 2018 at 10:18 am. An alert will be sent to all healthcare organizations in the eastern region of Virginia. TO receive this alert your organization must registered in the Virginia Healthcare Alerting and Status System (VHASS). Participating organizations will respond to the notifications and requests received from the Regional Healhcare Coodrnating Center (RHCC) via VHASS. Upon completion of the exercise the Emergency Manager for your facility, or their designee, should complete the After Action Report on SurveyMonkey.
Earthquake Preparedness. Earthquakes do occur in Virginia. If you do not have experience with earthquake preparedness we recommend that you download and read "How to Prepare for an Earthquake" and view the When the Earth Shakes video.
Documentation. The exercise plan (EXPLAN), other supporting documents and media will be available for download at the bottom of this screen as these materials become available.
After Action Report/Improvement Plan. The Emergency Manager for your organization, or their designee, must complete the their After Action Report on SurveyMonkey. (The link will be provided on this page at a later date.) The SurveyMonley data, along with VHASS reports, will be used to develop a regional AAR/IP. Participating healthcare organizations should still compile their own AAR/IP using the input they receive from their own evaluators and the Participant Feedback Forms. An Exercise Evaluation Guide (EEG) and Participant Feedback Forms are provided for your use.
